Important health notice
Macrova is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. All values (calories, macros, water, forecasts and AI estimates) are estimates. Talk to a doctor or dietitian before making major changes to your diet, especially if you have an illness (e.g. diabetes or kidney disease), are pregnant or breastfeeding, take medication, are under 18 or have or had an eating disorder.
If food or your body is causing you distress, please get support, for example from your doctor or, in Switzerland, anonymously around the clock from Die Dargebotene Hand (phone 143).
1. Scope
These terms apply to the use of the iPhone app “Macrova” and the website macrova.ch (together “Macrova”). The provider is Macrova (see imprint). By using Macrova you accept these terms. Apple’s terms also apply to downloading the app.
2. What Macrova offers
Macrova helps you log meals, keep an eye on calories and macros and find recipe ideas. Macrova is free during the beta. A beta version may contain bugs. Features may change, be limited or be discontinued. There is no entitlement to specific features or constant availability.
3. AI features
Photo scan, fridge scanner and recipe suggestions are created automatically by AI. Results may be inaccurate, incomplete or wrong, for example if foods or amounts are misrecognised. Always check the results yourself before accepting them.
Allergies and intolerances: never rely on the AI to detect or exclude allergens. Check ingredients and packaging yourself. When cooking recipes, make sure food is prepared safely, for example cooked through.
4. Your obligations
- Use Macrova only for personal, lawful purposes.
- Only upload photos you are allowed to use, and do not photograph other people or documents.
- Do not try to overload our server, query it automatically, bypass limits or otherwise misuse Macrova.
5. Availability
We strive for reliable operation but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. To prevent abuse, the number of AI requests per device is limited. Features that need the internet are not available offline.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability, in particular for damage resulting from the use of estimates, AI results or recipes, from data loss on your device or from interruptions. Liability for unlawful intent and gross negligence remains unaffected. Back up your data regularly with the backup feature.
7. Intellectual property
The app, the website, the logo and all content belong to Macrova. You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use the app for personal purposes. Barcode nutrition data comes from Open Food Facts (Open Database License, ODbL).

How we handle your data is explained in our privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms, for example when new features are added. You will always find the current version on this page.
10. Applicable law
Swiss law applies. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
